A Modern-Day Bach Takes the Stage at Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center
Twenty-five years after it opened, the Meyerson remains the crown jewel of the Dallas Arts District. Not only is it the most architecturally successful performing arts venue in the city, the Meyerson’s combination of fabulous acoustics and sophisticated elegance also makes for an unparalleled concert-going experience. Just ask Neil Young, who admitted that the Meyerson is one of his favorite places to play in the world.
With that being said, world-renowned pianist David Fray will perform Beethoven, along with the Háry János Suite by Kodály and Hindemith’s bracing and uplifting Concert Music for Strings and Brass.
Described by the press as a “poet” and “perhaps the most inspired, certainly the most original Bach player of his generation,” David Fray continues to thrill audiences worldwide as a recitalist, soloist and chamber musician. He has collaborated with leading orchestras under distinguished conductors such as Marin Alsop, Semyon Bychkov, Christoph Eschenbach, Asher Fisch, Daniele Gatti, Paavo Järvi , Kurt Masur, Riccardo Muti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Jaap van Zweden.
David Fray made his US debut in 2009 with the Cleveland Orchestra which was followed by performances with the Boston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Recital debuts followed in Carnegie Hall, at the Mostly Mozart Festival and in New York and the Chicago Symphony Hall.
Mr. Fray starts the 18/19 season with a stop in Dallas, Texas at our very own Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
